This month Champions for the Brokenhearted is talking about the unborn. Much has changed in our nation surrounding the conversation of life since our 2022 interviews with Lila Rose and Stephanie Gray Connors. Speaking on God’s heart for babies in the womb, they shared what it means to be a true disciple of Christ while fighting for human rights in today’s culture. Providing insight into this topic with compassion and grace, they answered some of the toughest questions facing advocates for life, including when life begins and how to navigate difficult conversations around the topic with family and friends.

Not sure how to have the pro-life conversation with someone? Stephanie share’s some wonderful insights in her book, “Love Unleashes Life: Abortion and the Art of Communicating Truth

“Love is about wanting the other’s good, not about wanting the other to feel good. So if we truly care about people that means we will share truths with them that are for their good, even if those truths don’t necessarily make one feel good.”

Stephanie Gray Connors

What’s new?

For our 2023 Champions for the Unborn interview, Nick sat down with Lauren Green McAfee at “Stand for Life” in Washington D.C. Lauren is a speaker, writer, and the founder of Stand for Life, a movement that affirms and defends the dignity of all human life.

The overturning of Roe vs. Wade was a huge stride for the rights of the unborn, but the work has only just begun. In the interview Lauren discussed the important next steps forward that we need to take as a nation. Stand for Life serves as a blueprint strategy for the Church. The goal is to see organizations build relationships and become stronger together in order to support the needs of women and their children both inside and outside of the congregation.

The message to the Church right now is to be encouraged that there is still work to be done. It is our role as the Body of Christ to offer solutions, hope, and healing to the women in our community searching for answers. The goal is to become a strong support system and beacon of hope for these women and their babies.

If you are searching for help we encourage you to call the pregnancy help hotline: 1-800-395-4357 and be encouraged by what God has to say about you and your baby by downloading this free brochure.

Until next time

In this month’s Gospel Message, Nick’s message to those who have had an abortion is that there is hope for you. Nick explains that his worst disability was not that he was born with no arms and legs, but the crippling shame and guilt from sin. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. Jesus has taken on all sin so we can be free and have victory regardless of our past. He can heal you and redeem you. He wants you renewed and if you commit your life to Him, He can use anything that you have gone through for good. You might feel like you are silently suffering, but God sees your pain and your tears. Jesus Christ wants to set you free. This is not the end of your story. As broken as you might feel, God is not done with you and He loves you.
